- Name of the Examination – Coast Guard Enrolled Persons Test (CGEPT)
- Organising Authority / Conducting Body – Indian Coast Guard (Ministry of Defence), through Staff Selection Commission (SSC).
- Level of Examination – National Level
- Post Name – Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), Yantrik (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics) and Hygienist-I.
- Salary –
- Navik (GD/DB): ₹21,700 Basic Pay, Pay Level-3 + DA & other applicable allowances/
- Yantrik: ₹29,200 Basic Pay, Pay Level-5 + ₹6,200 Yantrik Pay + DA & other allowances/
- Hygienist-I: ₹21,700 Basic Pay, Pay Level-3 + DA & other applicable allowances.
- Educational Qualification – 10th/12th/ITI Pass
Indian Coast Guard Syllabus 2026 Selection Process
The selection of candidates is based on their performance in Stage-I, II, III & IV (explained in detail in subsequent paras), meeting the laid down medical standards during medical examination and the number of vacancies available for the post in the respective batch. Qualification in Stage-I, II, III, IV is compulsory for recruitment in ICG.

- Stage – III (Basic Identity Check/Document Verification)
- Stage–IV. Stage-IV shall comprise verification/ authentication of original educational and other documents submitted during Stage-III with the concerned Boards/ Universities/ State Government authorities.
